Description The brewers at Amager Bryghus don't beat around the bush: the Double Black Mash is simply the heaviest, blackest, and most full-bodied beer they make. This pitch-black monster is brewed only once a year and is traditionally released during 'Double Black Mash Day'. While there are also special barrel-aged siblings released alongside it, this is the 'Original' 2026 version. Pure, uncut craftsmanship. No crazy adjuncts, no extracts, just an absurd amount of roasted malt and pure passion.
Taste Description The beer pours like liquid tar, relentlessly black and extremely viscous, with a deep brown, compact head. Because no 'bullshit' has been added, you get the purest, most intense stout experience imaginable. Expect an overwhelming nose of heavily roasted coffee beans, pure dark chocolate (at least 85% cocoa), molasses, and burnt bread. On the palate, the beer is bizarrely thick and full (chewy). Flavors of raw cocoa, licorice, espresso, and dark roasted malt waltz across your tongue, and the beer finishes with a massive, warming, and bitter aftertaste.
Food Pairing A "pure malt, no bullshit" Imperial Stout of this intensity and viscosity demands serious counterparts:
