Abadía Retuerta is a historic estate in Castilla y León, Spain, with a winemaking tradition dating back over eight centuries. The estate, led by oenologist Ángel Anocíbar, is known for its commitment to wines that reflect the unique personality of the terroir.
Since early 2022, it has held its own Protected Designation of Origin (Abadía Retuerta DOP).
This wine is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The aging takes place for 16 months in French oak barrels.
Tasting Note
The nose reveals complex aromas of laurel, black tea, and subtle hints of bell pepper. Furthermore, there is an enticing smokiness of roasted vegetables and chestnuts. On the palate, the wine presents itself as flavourful, pure, and complex. The wine is supported by firm and very fine tannins, which provide an excellent structure and aging potential.
