Grape Varieties & Vinification
Abadía Retuerta is a historic estate in Castilla y León, Spain, with a winemaking tradition dating back over eight centuries. The estate, led by oenologist Ángel Anocíbar, is known for its commitment to wines that reflect the unique personality of the terroir. 

Since early 2022, it has held its own Protected Designation of Origin (Abadía Retuerta DOP).  

This wine is a pure expression of 100% Tempranillo. The wine undergoes an aging period of 16 months in French oak barrels. This period of barrel maturation is crucial for developing the structure and integrating the complex aromas. 

Tasting Note
The wine offers an aromatic and complex nose, with hints of both red and black fruit (such as raspberries, red berries, and blackberries). These fruit aromas are beautifully complemented by spicy notes of clove, bay leaf, and black tea. On the palate, the Negralada is elegant and powerful in structure. It is characterized by soft tannins which ensure a refined texture and a long finish.

Food Pairing
Due to its power and elegant structure, the Negralada is an ideal companion for gastronomic dishes. The wine pairs perfectly with grilled or roasted tenderloin, prime rib of beef, or steak with truffle. It combines excellently with wild boar, venison, or other refined game, preferably served with rich, spicy sauces.
