Grape Varieties & Vinification
Abadía Retuerta is a historic estate in Castilla y León, Spain, with a winemaking tradition dating back over eight centuries. The estate, led by oenologist Ángel Anocíbar, is known for its commitment to wines that reflect the unique personality of the terroir. Since early 2022, it has held its own Protected Designation of Origin (Abadía Retuerta DOP).
This wine, made entirely from 100% Syrah, reflects the unique characteristics of the Pago Garduña. The grapes originate from the characteristic calcareous soils of this specific vineyard. The aging takes place for 16 months in new French oak barrels.
Tasting Note
The nose is complex, with a striking, enticing mix of forest fruits, plums, blackberries, and juniper berries. There are also characteristic hints of black olive and a certain spiciness of clove, along with a lively presence of black and white pepper. On the palate, the wine is elegant and soft, yet simultaneously intense. It is an expressive and balanced wine, with silky-smooth and fruity tannins that ensure a velvety texture and excellent aging potential.
Food Pairing

This historic winery, located on the prestigious 'Golden Mile' of the Duero Valley, distinguishes itself through a centuries-old tradition and a pioneering vision. The absolute highlight?
