The 2024 Grüner Veltliner Ried Lamm 1ÖTW Kamptal DAC received an outstanding 97 points at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2026 and the title “Best in Show” – the highest distinction bestowed by this world-renowned competition.
The Decanter World Wine Awards are widely regarded as the most prestigious stage in the international wine world. This year, nearly 17,000 wines from across the globe were blind tasted in London by an esteemed panel of 245 experts from 35 countries, including 63 Masters of Wine and 24 Master Sommeliers.
To see this Grüner Veltliner ranked among the 50 best wines of the entire competition is an extraordinary honour. Only around 0.3% of all wines entered receive the “Best in Show” distinction.
The path to this award is particularly demanding. Following several rounds of blind tasting, Gold medals are awarded first. From these, the Platinum wines are selected in further tasting rounds. Only then, after repeated and intensive evaluation, are the “Best in Show” wines chosen – representing the absolute pinnacle.
This award is far more than a medal. It is a confirmation of daily dedication, passion for winemaking, and an unwavering commitment to quality. At the same time, it is a wonderful recognition of Austria as a wine-producing nation and of Grüner Veltliner, which once again demonstrates its world-class potential on the international stage.
It is especially pleasing that Ried Lamm has once again confirmed its exceptional stature. Back in 2022, the Grüner Veltliner from this outstanding vineyard site was also awarded the “Best in Show” title. To see this success repeated brings immense gratitude and highlights the remarkable potential of this unique terroir.
And the good news continues: the 2024 Riesling Ried Heiligenstein 1ÖTW Kamptal DAC also impressed the judges and was awarded Platinum and 97 points – another exceptional achievement received with great pride.
Achievements like these are not created in the vineyard and cellar alone. They are also the result of the support, trust, and enthusiasm of those who have followed these wines over many years. For that, deepest and most heartfelt thanks are extended.
Sharing this special success brings great joy, with anticipation of raising a glass together to celebrate this remarkable achievement.
In addition to these amazing scores at Decanter, our new Riesling Zöbling 2025 has received a wonderful score at the Falstaff Kamptal Village Wine Cup—no less than 93 points!
